Certified Translation for the United States (Specifically USCIS)
In the US, the requirements may vary depending on whether the institution requesting the translation is part of the federal government or a state government. For USCIS, it follows federal guidelines, which state:
Translations. Any document containing a foreign language submitted to USCIS shall be accompanied by a full English language translation which the translator has certified as complete and accurate, and by the translator's certification that they are competent to translate from the foreign language into English. - When sending confidential documents, ensure the company, is registered with the ICO and legally obligated to care for clients’ data. - The cover letter provided by the translator or translation agency should also include:
- Company’s registration details.
- Identification of the translated document and language.
